How does performance regress with age. I have a 8yr old Clio 172 with 66k on the clock but serviced and nursed since new.

This one is for Jacques but there will be a loss in performance with high mileage..

With that mileage and the fact that it is kept in good nick the performance should be perfect unless something small is wrong(like warn vacuum pipes or somethig)With todays electronics on the cars they shouldn't just loose performance
I took my brothers fiesta on the strip a while back and it kicked a newer models a$# and the car is 10years old, this shows that if a car is well maintained it should still perform 100%
Hope this info helps

Well explained Slakkie.. @ 66k that mileage is still low.
My wifes 12yr old RSI is on 250k+ but has lost power & is not as quick as when new. IMO a motors wear & tear regardless of servicing will over time take its toll on performance..

well i think the older (except the really old) should be faster as the motor losen's up abit also depends how it was driven from new 'if you drive like granny then it will perform the same
also vicea versa

but it has to be maintained
hope it helps
