Clio 2 "grinding" to a halt?I replaced the SO's Clio front brake pads about a month ago, guy at Mr.Mr said the disks are still fine.
Not soon after did the car start to grind to a halt, just the last two or three meters of stopping. It stops smooth and quiet from speed, it is just the last bit that's noisy, sounds like a grinding noise. I've had a look and every thing seems fine there.
What can it be? Disks?

I'd say definately disks, altough you confuse me, as even if the disks are stuffed with new pads you shouldn't have anything more than a shudder ???
You sure they put the new pads in correctly ?
Either way, don't mess around with it, grinding is never a good thing so get your cab back into the shop asap !!!
If the disks get stuffed you gonna pay through your butt to get new ones,.

padsWhat make of brake pads did you replace it with ?
If the brakes now start to grind and not before the pad change then i
dont think that it would be the disks causing it.

Thanks, it confuses me as well. I had it done at Mr.Mr, I think they put Spirex pads in...
It only started a while after the pads were done, I think since the pads seated in the disks.

SoundHmm sounds like it might be the pads then.
Could be that they are possibly very hard compound. Are they grooved
to make sure dust dont get trapped.

Yes, they have a groove in. I think I'll go back to the place whom fitted them...nowm if I can only find the slip.
